Cassia is seventeen, and that is the age at which people begin to be matched in Society. Pairing at the banquet, the boys and girls attend a dinner after which a conclusion is made to match them. No one is usually paired with someone who lives in the same place as him, but not impossible. Cassia is matched with Xander, her best friend, the boy she's known since childhood and who lives in a house next to hers. Together tells a dystopia . Society presents an all-controlling . Inhabitants who must abide by lots of rules. all live in perfect harmony and no problems whatsoever. People are matched based on seventeen years, so that couples who have children to form healthy and strong . People can not wear colors other than brown or black, and work as partners, are imposed. At twenty-marriage contracts are formalized, and eighty people have had a full and satisfying life and are ready to die. officials ensure the safety of districts, dreams are controlled and not allowed to write, and keep valuables. This is the Company, and all residents are happy living in this way, or at least that is what it seems.
In Together we have a protagonist that lives by the rules imposed, like other citizens. Cassia is the happiest girl on the day of his banquet pairing is satisfied when he learns that it is paired with your best friend. Cassia is a smart girl , healthy, strong and obedient . But in its microfiche appears another guy besides Xander, and that makes him consider many things. Xander is a great kid, loves to Cassia and behaves very well with it. It handsome, attentive and intelligent . This is the guy that any girl would have dreamed that matched. But the character I most enjoyed was undoubtedly Ky. Good old Ky, a boy who goes unnoticed but that hides many secrets . And the grandfather , a character that appears slightly but has a great importance.
Together is extremely addictive , I was hooked from her first words. It is a story of absurd rules of harmony, but also of rebellion. Together plunges you into the story, want to hold hands and lead Cassia on the right track, whisper verses that incite rebellion , shouting to the world that your life is yours and nobody else.
One of the things I liked best about the novel has been the story . Ally Condie shows that he knows what it does, get you advance the story and live like you're there. Creates very real characters, which does not cost anything to take care and orchestra a beautiful love story, pure , to be fed little by little, slowly but sincere, credible .
Together is the first of a series that promises and I am sure comply. The next installment looks like it offer action and rebellion , suspense, intrigue and more feelings .
