WRITERS ANECDOTES (182): Octavio Paz Garro is a TROJAN

.
The poet's father had died tragically in 1934, following alcoholism. Peace (...) believed linked, since that afternoon, a number of things dark and decadent, a plan of death and bitterness, "as if it were just the repository of harsh words." The arrival of Elena Garro, however, he discovered he was born to other things. "From your lips, from your face, under your hair, I am a child and every day is like a rebirth," he confessed.

In an interview with the researcher Patricia Rosas Lopategui, Garrido recalled the night he first saw. She still far from becoming one of Mexico's most notable writers of the twentieth century, attending his "first dance" home of some relatives. Peace (far too Nobel for literature, but now close to the lyrics and poetry) suddenly fell off a group of friends and invited her to dance. Elena was 15. "I danced with him and was so spoiled. He said, 'You are a puritan, "came with the pastor?" (...) I got angry. I said, 'Please sit down. " 'No, why? " So I sat and said to Peter (Miller): 'Come, come here' and Octavio (...) We left the window yelling, "Hey, priest, do not take her '." Since that night, after finishing his classes Faculty of Law, and before his employment as a clerk in the Archives of the Nation, the poet was about the school building, looking for Elena. "I went through all the corners," she said.
