Anne decided to sign the workshop of a more famous poet Robert Lowell. About Lowell, Anne said later: "I taught what to put in a poem but what to leave out ." (...)


The workshop, that winter of 1959, he received an important addition: Sylvia Plath. Sylvia had a strong academic background but no doubt the influence he received from Lowell and Sexton's poetry was important naked in his career, as we would the death of Plath's poetry and important to Sexton.
